Copyright & DMCA Policy
This page explains who owns what on FlickFinders, how we credit the third-party movie data we display, and the process for requesting removal of copyrighted material you believe is being used without authorization.
1. FlickFinders' Own Content
The FlickFinders name, logo, site design, and original editorial writing (including our own descriptions, "why watch" write-ups, and fun facts) are the property of FlickFinders and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from this original content without our prior written permission.
2. Third-Party Movie & TV Data
Posters, backdrops, cast photos, ratings, and factual details (release dates, runtimes, cast/crew, streaming availability) shown on FlickFinders are sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB) and remain the property of their respective copyright owners - the studios, distributors, and photographers who created them. FlickFinders does not claim ownership of this material.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
3. User-Submitted Reviews
When you submit a review or rating on FlickFinders, you retain ownership of your own written words, but you grant FlickFinders a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, moderate, and remove that content on the site. Do not submit a review containing text, images, or other material you don't have the right to share.
4. Fair Use
Where FlickFinders excerpts, quotes, or references copyrighted material (for example, a short quote in editorial commentary) beyond what's licensed through TMDB, we believe this constitutes "fair use" under Section 107 of the US Copyright Act - used for commentary, criticism, and informational purposes, not to substitute for the original work. If you believe specific content goes beyond fair use, please use the takedown process below.
5. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe material on FlickFinders infringes a copyright you own or manage, you (or your authorized agent) may send a written notice to our designated agent containing all of the following, as required under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the specific material you claim is infringing, with enough detail (e.g. the exact page URL) for us to locate it.
- Your contact information - at minimum an address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
Send takedown notices to our designated copyright agent:

Notices that don't include the information above may not receive a response. We will remove or disable access to material identified in a valid notice and, where applicable, notify the user who posted it.
6. Counter-Notification
If content you posted was removed in response to a takedown notice and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification to the same address including: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, and phone number. Filing a counter-notification may result in the material being restored unless the original complainant seeks a court order.
